Davis Cup - Bautista Agut on Nadal: "Let's hope he's all right".

Davis Cup - Bautista Agut on Nadal: Let's hope he's all right.

As he prepares to defend Spain's colors in the Davis Cup finals, Roberto Bautista Agut recently gave an interview to our Spanish colleagues at Marca.

Selected by David Ferrer, he will compete alongside Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreno Busta and Marcel Granollers. On this occasion, he was kind enough to return to the question of who will be Spain's number 2 at the finals.

While there is no doubt that Alcaraz will be number 1, the identity of the second player in the squad is less clear-cut, and could come down to Bautista Agut or Rafael Nadal.

The veteran Iberian declared: "More than between me and Rafa, it's Rafa who will decide whether he's ready to play or not. Let's hope he's okay and then we'll see who plays. I'm ready, and I'm going to try to prepare as I always do for the Davis Cup.

I'm ready to play. Then there are a lot of factors. A lot can happen. Fortunately, there are five of us who are giving it our all."
