Dimitrov impresses and reaches the last eight

Grigor Dimitrov was determined to do well on Tuesday.

Opposed to a very good Alexei Popyrin, the Bulgarian wanted to take his revenge and set the record straight.

Dimitrov had lost to the same Australian in Montreal, after dominating the match and even winning three match points.

This time, the world number 10 didn't waver.

The 33-year-old played a very solid match and set up his game perfectly.

He was superb on serve (98% of points won on first serve), precise on return, aggressive in the exchange and as good as ever at changing pace, and simply blew Popyrin away.

Serious when he needed to be, he gradually took control of the match, even going it alone in the second set (7-6, 6-2).

For a place in the quarter-finals, he will face one of the circuit's rising stars, 19-year-old Jakub Mensik.
