Djokovic pays tribute to Nadal: "The history he wrote here may never be repeated. His career is incredible."
After qualifying for the second round of this Roland-Garros 2024 (victory over Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 7-6, 6-4), Novak Djokovic took advantage of the post-match interview to express his thoughts on Rafael Nadal's potential final match played against Alexander Zverev on Monday.
The world No. 1 was in the stands to witness the match. He shared his thoughts on the event with Fabrice Santoro.
Novak Djokovic: "Yes, yesterday (Monday) I was in the stands for Rafa's match. And it was also Zverev's match. They're both great players. Rafa said on court that he didn't know if it was his last match here.
But all the history he made at Roland Garros may never be repeated in the future of our sport. Everything he's done in tennis, but especially here on this court (Court Philippe Chatrier). So congratulations to him on his incredible career."
