Stefanos Tsitsipas is going through a very tricky period.

Beaten from the outset at the US Open, the Greek made no appearance at the Davis Cup, condemning Greece to a play-off against Novak Djokovic's Serbia.

Djokovic was asked about Tsitsipas's state of form at a press conference following his comprehensive singles victory over the modest 770th-ranked player in the world.

Far from being defeatist, the Serb declared: "I don't think he's far from the best players.

He has a game that allows him to be an established top 5 player, and he's proved that on numerous occasions in previous years.

He just needs to find the balance mentally."
