Fils on the atmosphere at Paris-Bercy: "When you play at 11am, you know it's not going to be full".
Winner of his 1st round match in Paris against Marin Cilic, Arthur Fils was asked about the atmosphere he felt during the match.
The Frenchman's match was played in the first rotation on Tuesday morning, in front of a cheering crowd.
However, Fils admitted that he prefers the atmosphere of night sessions, where the stands are often fuller: "It was nice. But when you play at 11 in the morning, you know it's not going to be full. It's not like when you play in the evening. The atmosphere is different.
But all the people who were there this morning were really into it, and that's a pleasure. I hope it'll be the same in the second round, or even better."
Arthur Fils's 2nd round match against Jan-Lennard Struff will be played tomorrow in the second rotation on Centre Court.
