For Corretja, Zverev/Alcaraz is "the best final we could have had".

For Corretja, Zverev/Alcaraz is the best final we could have had.

Some have suggested that the men's final could have been more interesting, pointing in particular to the absence of Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner. That said, the final duel between Zverev and Alcaraz is likely to be worth a look, and has plenty to make you salivate.

That's clearly the opinion of Alex Corretja: "It's the best final we could have had in this tournament. Of course, it would have been great to have Novak Djokovic in the final, but if you look at the big picture, this final is just great." (comments relayed by Eurosport).
