Halys warns Rune: "I don't put him much higher than Khachanov".
Quentin Halys shines in London. Down to 220th in the world, the Frenchman is putting in one fine performance after another at Wimbledon. After three fine wins in qualifying, he strolled through the first round against Eubanks (6-4, 6-4, 6-2).
However, his real big performance came in the second round. Faced with world number 22 Karen Khachanov, the 27-year-old managed to pull off the feat after just under 3 hours of hard-fought play (4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Imperial on serve and more aggressive than ever, Halys is gaining in confidence and now wants to look further ahead. With Holger Rune back in the fold, Halys wants to play this match to win it:
"No disrespect to him, but I don't put him much higher than Khachanov, they're a bit of the same calibre. So, I'm going into this match to win it. It's going to be cool." (comments relayed by L'Équipe).
