Khachanov far too strong for Van Assche in Dubai

Karen Khachanov is back to his best. Winner of the ATP 250 in Doha last week, he confirmed this trend by delivering a very solid match to defeat Luca Van Assche in the 1st round in Dubai.

The young Frenchman couldn't do much. He led 3 games to 1 in the second set, but was then unable to resist the Russian's comeback. The Russian won the last 5 games of the match to win 6/2, 6/3 in just 1h20.

Khachanov will face Czech Jiri Lehecka in the 2nd round.
