Laver Cup - Noah on Alcaraz: "We've forged a bond".
From the 2025 season onwards, Yannick Noah will be the new captain of the European Laver Cup team.
Very enthusiastic about the idea, the Frenchman spoke to L'Équipe, explaining that he has begun to get to know his future players.
Asked about a certain Carlos Alcaraz, he explained: "I wasn't expecting this dimension of organization. I don't know these guys at all!
Fortunately, we had an incredible moment on Wednesday, a dinner with Björn, all the players and me. Just us.
That was really cool, because we got together and relaxed over a couple of beers.
Carlitos (Alcaraz), I don't know him, I saw him from a distance at Roland (Garros), just hello!
Whereas this time, it was: 'Hey capt'ain, how are you? We're gonna have fun next year!'.
A bond was created, and that alone is important. The idea is for us to bump into each other from time to time.
I'll go and see them at Roland, spend as much time with them as they like, without any pressure, and at the US Open too.
I'll try to bring a bit of joy, to relax everyone a bit, that's the goal."
