We really didn't expect John McEnroe's team to be so strong.
Opposed to a European selection that seemed to have everything to win, the men in red gave nothing away, stringing together a series of prestigious victories.
In a match of the highest level, Ben Shelton toppled a somewhat disappointing Daniil Medvedev in just over 2 hours (6-7, 7-5, 10-7).
Already beaten by Tiafoe in the super tie-break on Saturday, the Russian seemed to be cursed and, above all, allowed Shelton to bring home three precious points for his team, taking the score to 11-7.
The next duel between Alexander Zverev and Frances Tiafoe could therefore be decisive.
If the American wins, Team World will be on course for a third consecutive Laver Cup triumph.
