Lokoli: "My sport hurts".

Le 22/08/2024 à 09h16 par Elio Valotto
Lokoli: My sport hurts.

The case of Jannik Sinner continues to provoke reactions from many of his fellow athletes.

Although his innocence has been proven, his non-suspension continues to make many teeth clench, especially when we know that some athletes have been suspended for a simple absence from a doping control.

This was expressed by Laurent Lokoli in a series of messages posted on Twitter: "The Sinner case is a real problem for the fairness of our sport.

I love Jannik both as a player and as a person who is very humble and hard-working. However, why does someone like Ymer who has never been doped get 2 years suspension.

Just because he didn't show up for his tests, because the rules there are very strict and tough. But he was never doped and yet was punished as such.

It hurts my sport to see that because you're one of the world's top players, there's a difference in treatment and everything has been done under the radar.

If it had been me who tested positive, I'd already be in the hole for 2 seasons and my image destroyed for life."
