Medvedev: "I hope it's nothing serious for Dimitrov".
Daniil Medvedev was probably expecting to spend a lot more time on Court 1 this Sunday. But the injury and withdrawal of Grigor Dimitrov (apparently with a thigh or left adductor muscle injury), after just 40 minutes of play, decided otherwise. The Russian was sorry and disappointed to see the match end this way.
Daniil Medvevdev: "I don't know why, but there are a lot of injuries this year in my matches. Sometimes me, sometimes my opponents. And I feel sorry for Grigor because, as I told him at the net, we played so many great matches against each other. Great points, very close matches, sometimes he won, sometimes I won. And I couldn't wait to play him on grass.
It had started well, well not me, but the points. The points were great. And I don't know when he got injured, but after the physio I thought he'd be able to try for a few games. But he certainly couldn't anymore. It's a difficult moment. I hope it's nothing serious for him. And there's not much else to say."
