Moya on Nadal: In 1307 matches, Nadal has never broken a racket.

Carlos Moya, Rafael Nadal's coach from 2018 to 2024, spoke at length about his player, who is also a very close friend.

He spoke of his character: "Rafa's influence on tennis will last long after his retirement.

A world superstar, he was loved by fans the world over for his dedication, resilience and personality. He helped tennis move the game forward with his voice for the betterment of the sport.

His self-mastery is a beacon of light, a benchmark for young players the world over. In 1,307 matches on the ATP Tour, Rafa has never broken a racket.

He has always respected his opponents. Any defeat was his fault. He was the first to compliment his opponent.

He was the ultimate fighter: tenacious, intense, energetic in every fight. He treated everyone equally, from the volunteer to the tournament director. He was a role model, on and off the field. An inspiration to everyone.

His work with the Rafa Nadal Foundation and his academy will make his legacy even greater in the future, for new generations.

The sport can only be grateful that an icon like Nadal has played a leading role for so long. This is Rafael Nadal, and this is his number 1 story.
