Mpetshi Perricard: "I love Roger, but I prefer Rafa".

Mpetshi Perricard: I love Roger, but I prefer Rafa.

It didn't take long for Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard to bounce back. After a somewhat disappointing period, the young Frenchman is already back on the road to success.

A brilliant winner over Holger Rune in the semi-finals (7-6, 6-4), this Sunday he will attempt to dominate Ben Shelton to claim the title.

Asked in the press conference about his relationship with Roger Federer, the Frenchman admitted that, although he admired the Swiss, he still had a slight preference for Nadal: "Yeah, I was inspired by Roger Federer who won this tournament ten times, but I was sad when Nadal lost to him in 2015.

So I mean, yeah, I love Roger, but I prefer Rafa. Both players are great, incredible.

And yeah, they inspired me when I was young, and I just try to be as good as them."
