Nadal praises Alcaraz: "Whatever the surface, he'll be the favourite".
Rafael Nadal isn't done with tennis yet. The Spaniard has been preparing for the Olympic Games for several weeks now.
As he returns to competition this week, and plays his first match this Tuesday against Leo Borg, son of Bjorn Borg, he confided in us about the Alcaraz case.
Very admiring, he declared: "The best thing he has going for him is that, whatever the tournament, whatever the surface, he'll be the favorite. That's something we didn't see in my generation.
I was the favorite on clay, but on grass, it was Roger (Federer). On hard court, it was between Roger and Novak (Djokovic), then me a little later. But neither of us was the favorite before each tournament.
I think Carlos is today, and that's a big advantage because he must feel that, if he plays at his level, it's hard to beat him."
