Paris Olympics: Swiatek with Rybakina, Gauff with Paolini

This time, the participants in the Paris Olympic tournament have been decided. Unsurprisingly, the course will be a tough one, and it will be the two most resilient players who will enter the Chatrier and compete for the gold medal.

In the top half of the draw, Iga Swiatek has inherited a draw within her reach and, given her status on the surface, it's unlikely that she'll really be tested before the semi-finals.

The presence of Diana Shnaider, ranked 23rd in the world and above all a Budapest title-winner, is worth noting, however, as she could meet her match in the last 16.

Even so, Swiatek will theoretically have to contend with some tough opponents at the end of the event if she is to bring home a medal for Poland.

She could face Ostapenko, Collins or the returning Wozniacki in the quarter-finals. For a place in the final, it could be Zheng, Osaka or Rybakina.

In the bottom half of the draw, Coco Gauff doesn't seem to have been spared too much, with a number of serious outsiders standing in her way.

After what should be quiet opening matches, although she will have to be wary of the returning Tomljanovic in the first round, she could meet Dona Vekic, who has been in fine form for several weeks (finalist in Bad Homburg and semi-finalist at Wimbledon), in the Round of 16.

After that, she would theoretically have to beat Sakkari or Kostyuk, and then above all Krejcikova, Paolini or Pegula, to reach the final. The American flag-bearer will have to be on her guard!

This edition of the Games promises to be another exciting one, with many surprises in store.
