Ruud: "I really admire Sinner as a player".
After his heavy 6-1, 6-2 defeat by Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the ATP Finals, Casper Ruud was asked about his opponent.
The Norwegian was full of praise: "Today, he played very well both offensively and defensively. He's solid, because he plays long matches and has no problems.
I had the impression that even when I threw him from side to side, he defended and slid very well. I hadn't played him for three years. Every aspect of his game improved.
This year, he seems to have improved in every area, or even since the end of last year. It's really fun to watch, but hard to play.
I really admire Sinner as a player. As a person, he's very serious about what he does. It's inspiring. Even though he's younger than me, I have a lot to learn from him.
