Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner face off this Sunday in the final of the ATP Finals in Turin. The two players had already played each other last Tuesday in the group phase, a match won by Sinner 6-4, 6-4.
It's not unusual to find a group match in a Masters final. Indeed, this is the twentieth time this has happened.
On twelve occasions, the result has been different, most notably in 2015, when Novak Djokovic lost to Roger Federer in the group stage before beating him in the final.
It also happened last year, when Djokovic first lost to Sinner, then won the final against the Italian.
It remains to be seen whether Fritz will be able to emulate the Serb.
