Sinner withdraws from the Olympic Games!

Jannik Sinner, world number 1, will not be taking part in the event. A small tsunami has just swept through the French capital.

Whereas Italy had hoped to see Sinner bring back one or more medals, it will now have to rely on the rest of its selected athletes (Musetti, Arnaladi, Darderi, Paolini, etc.).

The Australian Open winner has just announced his withdrawal due to illness: "I'm sorry to inform you that, unfortunately, I won't be able to take part in the Paris Olympic Games.

After a good week's training on clay, I started to feel unwell. I took a few days off and when I went to see the doctor, he diagnosed me with tonsillitis and strongly advised against playing.

Missing the Olympics is a big disappointment, as it was one of my main objectives for this season. I was looking forward to the honor of representing my country at such an important event.
