The final between favourites Italy and Slovakia was a thriller.
Leading after the first singles, Italy was crowned champion of the Billie Jean King Cup 2024 thanks to Jasmine Paolini's victory over Rebecca Sramkova (6-2, 6-1).
Jasmine Paolini, world n°4, has had an impressive year, culminating in a BJK Cup title.
The Italian No.1 needed just a few games to shake off the nervousness of the stakes in her match. Once she had done so, she unrolled her tennis against Sramkova to give Italy the title.
This is the Italian team's first title in the competition since 2013. Sara Errani, still with the team at the age of 37, wins her fourth BJK Cup title, after 2013, 2010 and 2009.
