Like the French Open, since 2006, and the Australian Open, since 2024, the US Open will now be played over 15 days instead of 14, starting with the 2025 edition (August 24 - September 7).
The last Grand Slam of the season will divide the first-round matches into three different days: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
With this decision, tournament organizers hope to benefit from record crowds compared with previous editions, and increase ticketing revenues.
Wimbledon thus becomes the last Grand Slam tournament to be played over 14 days, starting on a Monday.
