Tsitsipas: "I wasn't sure I could keep up with the pace of tennis".
Stefanos Tsitsipas reflected on his 2024 season in an Instagram live. A season to forget, with an exit from the top 10, despite a title in Monte-Carlo.
Ranked 6th in the world at the end of the 2023 season, the Greek ended 2024 in 11th place.
Tsitsipas explains: "I'm very proud of my current situation, because my mind went through some very difficult moments this year and I wasn't sure I could keep up with the pace of tennis.
Tennis was no longer important to me, and neither was playing in tournaments. It was difficult, because I'd never imagined it would come to this, but I'm proud of myself and the way I managed it.
The most surprising thing was to go to Monte Carlo and win the title there again, because I wasn't 100% sure I could do it given everything that was going on."
