Wawrinka: "It's more than just tennis".
Stan Wawrinka will be able to take part in the Olympic Games one last time.
At the age of 39, the man who won the doubles gold medal in 2008, alongside Roger Federer, makes no secret of his delight.
Although his chances of bringing home a medal for Switzerland look extremely slim this time around, Wawrinka is nonetheless looking forward to making the most of his invitation.
Smiling, he explained to RTS: "Olympic memories are clearly among the most beautiful of my career.
It's much more than tennis, it's sport in general. It's a real pleasure to watch other sports and meet other athletes.
Every title is important in its own way, but an Olympic medal, as I said, goes beyond tennis.
Sharing these memories with Roger (Federer) has brought us closer for the rest of our careers, including Davis Cup and other things. When you spend ten days together, fighting for each other, it naturally creates a bond."
