Wednesday's weather at Roland-Garros - Rain may yet spoil the party
It's not raining in Paris yet, but it's not likely to stay that way for long. While all first-round matches should be able to start at 11 a.m. as scheduled, the rest of the day could be far less cheerful.
Forecasts for the rest of the day are fluctuating, but in a worst-case scenario, rain could well fall on the Porte d'Auteuil as early as 1pm (perhaps later). The rest of the day doesn't look much better, with thundery showers forecast until 10pm. This extremely busy day, with no fewer than 55 matches on the program, looks set to be another headache for Amélie Mauresmo and the rest of the management team.
So, once again, we'll have to keep an eye out for sunny spells in the hope of playing a few matches. Once again, the roof is likely to be pulled in on the Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen courts.
Despite everything, we wish everyone an excellent fifth day at Roland-Garros!
