Zverev: "I'm not lifting the trophy, but I'll come back and try again".
Alexander Zverev lost to Jannik Sinner in three short sets in the Australian Open final.
During his speech at the trophy ceremony, the German paid tribute to and congratulated Sinner.
He said: "Congratulations to Jannik, he's the best player in the world by far.
I was hoping to be more competitive today, but he was too strong. He deserves it, and congratulations to your team for doing everything so well.
Nobody deserves this trophy more than you. I'd also like to thank my team, we've been through a lot with my injuries, and I'm back in second place in the world.
I think the Australian Open is the best tournament in the world, organized by the best tournament director in the world, Craig Tiley.
God knows the players give him a hard time, we're tough."
