No rivalry on the WTA will ever be regarded as remotely similar to Sinner Alcaraz in quality, ticket sales, or viewership yet they will still recieve the same pay. The WTA is no closer to the ATP than the WNBA is to the NBA, and for all the same reasons.

Professional tennis is a one venue of the sports entertainment world. It's part of the entertainment industry which primarily concerns itself with generating profit. This event was nothing more than a sideshow of the entertainment designed to bring attention to professional tennis in general ... to generate more profit.
