5th set between Alcaraz and Zverev in the French Open final!
This final is quite unpredictable.
In a match between two tense but highly combative players, each player constantly pulls away before faltering again. Once again, this was the case, as the Spaniard, trailing two sets to one, flew through the fourth act to take the match into a deciding set (6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1 after 3 hours 24 minutes).
With a much more effective and percussive game (3 break points, 8 winners, 2 unforced errors), the native of El Palmar took full advantage of another dip in his opponent's performance to quickly pull away in this set.
Quickly taking a two break lead, he resisted Zverev's awakening to win a precious fourth set.
Now back on level terms with the German, 'Carlito' will try to keep up the momentum to win a final set, synonymous with his first Parisian title.
Zverev, of course, will be doing everything in his power to rediscover the quality of his game at the end of the third set and realize his dearest dream: a Grand Slam victory.
Everything remains to be done on the Chatrier!
