Sabalenka's boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov dies!

Horrible news! Belarusian Konstantin Koltsov, Aryna Sabalenka's partner since 2021 and former professional ice hockey player, died suddenly this Monday, March 18, 2024 in Miami. Miami, where Sabalenka was due to compete in the 2024 edition of the Miami Open, which kicks off this Tuesday (March 19-31). Koltsov was currently one of the coaches of Salavat Yulaev, an ice hockey club in the city of Ufa (Russia). He was 42 years old.

The information was confirmed by his club and the Belarusian ice hockey federation.

Our condolences go out to all his family and friends, with a special thought for Aryna Sabalenka. After the death of her father, who passed away suddenly at the age of 43 in November 2019, the world number 2 is facing a new tragedy.

Salavat Yulaev Hockey Club press release: "Konstantin Koltsov has passed away.

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Konstantin Koltsov, Salavat Yulaev's coach. He was a strong and cheerful man, loved and respected by players, colleagues and fans alike. Konstantin Evgenyevich will always be part of our club's history. Koltsov won the Russian championship and the Gagarin Cup as a member of Salavat Yulaev and did an excellent job as a member of the club's coaching team.
