Entering Wimbledon, Nadal surprises again

Entering Wimbledon, Nadal surprises again

On the face of it, 2024 will be Rafael Nadal's last professional season. While he looks set to play in the French Open one last time, his schedule continues to be gradually revealed. And it's surprising, to say the least.

While Roland Garros and the Olympic Games appear to be logical objectives for the Majorcan, some of his followers were surprised to discover that the Spaniard was planning to take part in Wimbledon. Indeed, the London Grand Slam is historically the major where he has had the least success. Not always at ease on grass, many fans expected 'Rafa' to skip Wimbledon in preparation for the Olympic event.

So it seems that the current world No. 276 has decided to play at Wimbledon one last time. While this choice may come as something of a surprise, there is every reason to believe that the King of Ochre is aiming to play as many tournaments as possible in 2024.

Andy has withdrawn, Most sensible decision he's made this afternoon, to be honest. Sad to see the match end this way. 😢

Andy is clearly struggling with an injury atm, so why carry on & aggravate it even more, especially with Wimbledon coming up 🤔

Congrats & well played Anastasia, a good win in straight sets to qualify for the qtr final 👏👌 Seems as though Anastasia is not only pretty, but also quite good at tennis @ashylarrymp 😉

Yes, he called for the MTO in the 1st set, having only played 3 games in total.
