Humbert beats Medvedev to qualify for Dubai final!

Ugo Humbert produced a monumental performance to defeat Daniil Medvedev on Friday and qualify for the final in Dubai (ATP 500). After putting up a good fight against the Russian at the start of the match, he proved far more realistic than the world no. 4, winning in 1 hour 50 minutes by the score of 7/5, 6/3. The Frenchman will face Bublik for the title on Saturday.

Very solid in both game and mind, Humbert converted 4 break points out of 9, compared with just 1 out of 8 for Medvedev. In the 7th game of the 2nd set, he even managed to win his serve after trailing 0-40. The Frenchman thus confirms the great progress he has made since the end of last season, progress which already enabled him to win the title in Marseille 3 weeks ago.
