Krejcikova reaches Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time!

On Monday, Barbora Krejcikova reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the very first time in her career. She has now reached this stage of the competition in each of the four Grand Slam tournaments.

The Czech, currently ranked 32nd in the world at the age of 28, defeated Danielle Collins, who had suffered a slight injury to her left thigh, in 1 hour, 42 minutes and two sets (7-5, 6-3) on Court n°1.

In the quarters, Krejcikova will take on Jelena Ostapenko, who has so far proved a tough nut to crack. The Latvian, ranked 14th in the world, has lost just 15 games in four matches since the start of the tournament.
