Zverev wakes up and closes the gap, one set all!
This Roland Garros men's final is starting to heat up. Even if the overall level of the match is still rather disappointing for a Major final, both men are starting to come into their own.
In stark contrast to the first act, Alexander Zverev took full advantage of the Spaniard's slump to win the second set (3-6, 6-2 after 1h36 of play).
With the Spaniard's intensity dropping (4 winners, 12 unforced errors), the 27-year-old finally got into his stride. Much more percussive, both in the exchange and on serve (6 winners, 2 unforced errors), he proved to be very effective. Breaking twice, the Olympic champion left little hope for Alcaraz, who lost the thread of his tennis.
Now back to back, the two men still have everything to do if they are to walk away with the trophy. Let's just hope that, this time, they play well together!
