Titled at Queen's, Paul savors: "It's incredible to hear the names of past winners"
Tommy Paul couldn't have got his grass-court season off to a better start. After a disappointing first round (at Bois-le-Duc), the American put in a perfect week to win at Queen's. Impressively, he didn't waver in the final, dominating the ever-talented Musetti (6-1, 7-6), and thus regaining his highest ranking of 12th in the world this week.
Interviewed after this magnificent success, the 27-year-old didn't hold back his pleasure: "I'd like to congratulate Lorenzo on his magnificent week. I'm delighted to have shared the court with you. You played some extraordinary tennis all week.
I'm really happy to have won today (Sunday). It's incredible to hear the names of past winners in the locker room. It was my goal to put my name next to them.
Thanks to my whole team. This is the best way to get to Wimbledon. Thank you all for coming and watching."
