Tsitsipas makes no secret of his ambitions:

Tsitsipas makes no secret of his ambitions: "I really want to do something big".

Stefanos Tsitsipas doesn't do things by halves. And yet, in a rather average state of form, the Greek seems to have huge ambitions at Wimbledon.

Indeed, after his first-round victory over Taro Daniel (7-6, 6-4, 7-5), the current world number 11 didn't hesitate in his press conference: "Grass is the most pleasant surface for the body, soul and mind of a tennis player. I feel it creates great harmony and implies freedom. I'm not just here to win a few matches, I really want to do something great.

I feel that my game is gradually adapting to this surface. I want to show the world that I'm capable of doing well in this tournament. It's my favorite tournament and it allows me to get closer to the style of play I love the most and that I started practicing as a child, namely serve-and-volley and aggressiveness, always moving forward."

All that remains now is to turn words into deeds, and that starts this Thursday with a second round tie against Ruusuvori, which is currently off to a very poor start (6-7, 6-7)...
