A very rare situation occurred in the Davis Cup match between Cristian Garin (Chile) and Zizou Bergs (Belgium) on Sunday.
Bergs had just broken at 6-5 in the third set of the match, but the Belgian celebrated and collided with his opponent as he made his way to the bench, before apologizing.
The collision between the two men caused Garin to fall to the ground for several minutes, hitting his right eye.
The Chilean team then asked the supervisor to disqualify Bergs, but the request was refused.
Following this decision, Garin did not wish to continue the match and received three warnings, which earned him a penalty game, and which meant the loss of the match for Chile (6-3, 4-6, 7-5).
Despite this controversy, Belgium has now qualified for the 2nd round of the Davis Cup.
No!!!!!
