Schwartzman recalls his only victory over Nadal: In Rome in 2020, I thought he was going to kick my butt

Diego Schwartzman will retire next week at the Buenos Aires tournament, where he will face Nicolas Jarry in the 1st round.

During a press conference before the start of the tournament, the Argentine looked back on the only time he has beaten Rafael Nadal (6-2, 7-5), at the Rome Masters 1000 in 2020:

"When I had to play Rafa in the quarter-finals in Rome in 2020, I wasn't feeling well. I thought he was going to kick my butt. But everything went perfectly."

Schwartzman went on to reach the final of the tournament, where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic (7-5, 6-3).
