Gauff on Swiatek's doping case: "I absolutely don't think that what she did was intentional".
Coco Gauff was in Melbourne for Media Day.
She was asked about Iga Swiatek and whether she had seen a drop in her confidence after what she went through in relation to her doping affair.
Gauff says: "No, I wouldn't say she's lost confidence.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't know her very well personally, but from the exchanges we've had, I absolutely don't think that what she did was intentional.
I don't think she lacks confidence. She plays tennis very well.
In the match we played (at the United Cup, January 5) I was just a little bit better that day, maybe I won a few points.
It could have gone the other way. I think she's fine. I don't know her well enough to tell you if she feels anything about it.
Yes, I can only say that, from what I can see, I think she's doing well.
She's still number 2 in the world and playing extraordinary tennis. She'll always play extraordinary tennis."
