Djokovic on Murray, his new coach: "He's meticulous and fully focused on work".
Novak Djokovic has arrived in Brisbane, where he will play his first tournament of the season in preparation for the Australian Open.
The Serb is not satisfied and is keen to get back to Grand Slam success, having failed to win a Major title in 2024, his first in seven years.
With his new coach Andy Murray, the former world No. 1 will be looking to settle in at the start of the season.
Speaking to the ATP website, Djokovic talked about his first days working with the Scot, who has moved to the other side of the net after having been his opponent for many years.
"The fact that we are now on the same side is a very important change, especially as Andy was one of my greatest rivals.
In a way, it's strange for me to share all the details of my situation on the court, some of my secrets, what I think and how I see my game with someone who was one of my main opponents.
But I'm delighted and grateful that he agreed to work with me here in Australia. The ten days we spent together were great.
I enjoyed every moment of it. He's meticulous and fully focused on the job. He's a true professional," admitted Djokovic.
"It's something that doesn't surprise me because I've known him for so many years.
It's a new experience for Andy and it was a surprise for him that we were associated, him as a coach and me as a player.
He has a unique point of view, he knows the advantages and disadvantages of my game. He was still a player not long ago on the tour.
He knows all the top players, the younger generation and all their qualities and weaknesses.
I'm really looking forward to it. Andy brings a fresh eye to my game and I think that's going to be good for me on the court, there's no doubt about that.
With the champion mentality he has, I'm sure it's going to work out between us," said the Serb.
