Djokovic on Murray: "It's a very nice and strange feeling to have him on the same side of the court"
After his 6-3, 6-3 victory over Rinky Hijikata in Brisbane, Novak Djokovic once again spoke about his collaboration with Andy Murray.
The Serb declared: "It's a very nice and strange feeling to have him on the same side of the court.
You know, we've been rivals for over 20 years and we've always kept secrets from each other, the way we trained, the way we prepared, the way we approached matches.
We never wanted to show our weakness to our main rivals. But now it's different.
You know, we spent eight or nine days together and we shared a lot of information even before we met.
Those eight or nine days together were really great, quality time on and off the pitch, getting to know each other, I think on a different level than we've had the opportunity to do over the last 20 years.
So it's a great honor and pleasure for me to have a legend of the sport, someone who is known to be as smart a tennis player as you can get.
I love talking to him about the nuances, the details, how I can improve my game, how I can gain an inch, how I can position myself better on the court in relation to my opponent.
Every little percentage counts at the highest level.
So what he's already told me is very positive. But, you know, we haven't spent many days on court together, so I'm looking forward to having him in Melbourne."
