Humbert makes perfect start to Marseille title defence

Facing Alexander Bublik in the 2nd round of the ATP 250 Marseille, Ugo Humbert made no mistake to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament (7-6, 6-4).

After exchanging breaks at the start of the match, the French No.1 got the better of Bublik in the tie-break, converting his third set point to take the lead.

And it was at 5-4 in the second set that Humbert stepped up a gear to close out the match, taking his opponent's serve.

Winner of last year's tournament, he will face Lorenzo Sonego in the quarter-finals on Friday.
