Pablo Carreño Busta part ways with his long-time trainer after 9 years together
The beautiful story between Pablo Carreño Busta and his trainer Samuel Lopez is over.
The Spanish player announced the news via an Instagram post: "A great chapter in my career is coming to an end.
We spent nine seasons together, with challenges and difficulties that we were able to overcome, as well as many unforgettable moments.
You helped me to be the person and tennis player I am today. I'll always be grateful to you, Samuel Lopez.
I'd also like to thank the Academia Equelite Ferrero family for all the love and support I've received.
See you soon on the circuit!" wrote the former world No. 10, now down to world No. 197.
Under Lopez, Carreño Busta won all seven of his ATP Tour titles, the most prestigious of which came at the Montreal Masters 1000 in 2022.
He also won the Olympic bronze medal at Tokyo 2021.
