Korda and Auger-Aliassime face off in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Adelaide
The line-up for the final of the Adelaide tournament has been announced. Félix Auger-Aliassime will take on Sebastian Korda this Saturday.
The Canadian, who has been in fine form this early in the season, put up a fine fight against number 1 seed Tommy Paul (7-6, 3-6, 6-4). The latter could have broken into the top 10 if he was successful, but that won't be the case.
Nevertheless, the American can console himself with the fact that he will be ranked 11th in the world on Monday, the highest ranking of his career.
Auger-Aliassime, for his part, will be playing in his first outdoor hard-court final since the Melbourne tournament in 2021.
This will be his 16th Tour final, and he will be looking to win the 6th title of his career.
Should he win, it would be his first title since Basel in 2023.
In the final, the Canadian will face Sebastian Korda. A finalist in 2023, when he gave Novak Djokovic a tough time, the American will have the opportunity to add his name to the honours list at this Adelaide tournament.
In the semi-finals, he overcame Miomir Kecmanovic (6-3, 7-6), converting his only break point of the match to win in two sets.
Korda will be fighting to lift the third trophy of his professional career. To do so, he will have to overcome Felix Auger-Aliassime, whom he has beaten just once in three meetings.
The last time they met was at the Antwerp 2022 tournament. In that final, the Canadian had the last word (6-3, 6-4).
