Wawrinka opens up about comparisons with Murray's career: "It's a lack of respect for Andy"
As a guest on the Nothing Major podcast, Stan Wawrinka discussed the comparisons that are regularly made with Andy Murray.
With three Grand Slams won during their careers, the two players have regularly been compared or put on the same level of tennis history, despite their palmares being significantly different, as Wawrinka described:
"I'm embarrassed when people talk about the 'Big 5' or things like that, or put me next to Andy just because he's won three Grand Slams and I've got three too.
But he's got 45 Masters 1000s and has been in the Top 10 for 20 years, and the same goes for the Top 5 (smile).
I'm extremely far from what the Big 3 have achieved and I think it's a lack of respect for them and especially for Andy, because that's the conversation that came up most often."
