Andreeva joins Sharapova and Gauff in a very exclusive club

Mirra Andreeva, just 17, will play tomorrow in the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Brisbane against world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka.

Thanks to her solid start to the season, the Russian has become the sixth player in the last twenty years to reach at least four semi-finals (Roland Garros, Iasi, Ningbo, Brisbane) on the WTA circuit before the age of 18.

She joins Maria Sharapova, Coco Gauff, Nicole Vaidisova, Michaella Krajicek and Tatiana Golovin among the players who have already achieved this feat in the last twenty years.

A first achievement that should be followed by many more for Andreeva, who will be one of the outsiders to watch at the Australian Open.
