With Novak Djokovic just two wins away from becoming the only player in tennis history to have won 25 Grand Slam titles, Patrick Mouratoglou spoke out about the record held by Margaret Court, tied with the Serb.
On his X account, in reaction to a debate launched by an Internet user, Mouratoglou spoke about what the number of Grand Slams won by Margaret Court in the 60s and 70s means to him:
"I've said it a million times. With all due respect, Margaret Court's record was set at a time when tennis wasn't even a professional sport.
Winning a Grand Slam in those days can never compare to winning a Grand Slam in the Open era."
