Alcaraz still unwell despite victory over Rublev: "There's been no improvement".
Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Andrey Rublev in two sets in his second match of the Masters, showed a more reassuring face on court.
However, the world no. 3 told the press conference that certain symptoms were still very much present: "My stomach is better than it has been over the last few days. As for the cold symptoms in my nose and chest, there's no improvement.
What helped me today was to forget about all that and play my best game possible.
I hope my condition will improve over the next few days. We'll see on Friday if I'm feeling better about my cold. If not, I'll still try to show a good level of play."
He also gave a brief explanation for the strap present on his nose during the match: "It helped me a lot today, I could breathe better."
