Arthur Cazaux to be trained by Sam Sumyk from 2025
Arthur Cazaux has his new coach. The 22-year-old Frenchman, who enjoyed a fine 2024 season that saw him reach the last 16 of the Australian Open, will now be coached by Sam Sumyk.
The Lorient native coached Victoria Azarenka between 2010 and 2015, helping the Belarusian win her only two Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open in 2012 and 2013.
He then led Garbiñe Muguruza, now retired, to consecration at Roland-Garros in 2016 and then Wimbledon in 2017.
Sumyk also coached Eugénie Bouchard in early 2015 and Donna Vekic between 2020 and 2021.
Currently ranked 64th in the world, the Montpellier-born player hopes to continue moving up the rankings in the coming months.
Over the past season, he has beaten the likes of Holger Rune, Lorenzo Musetti and Ben Shelton in official competition.
