Berrettini: "Something special
Having missed out on the Davis Cup last year, Matteo Berrettini is savoring this year. Winner of the decisive doubles alongside Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals, then loser of Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first singles of the semi-finals, the Italian colossus is having an exceptional week so far.
More enthusiastic than ever, Berrettini revealed that he feels particularly motivated by playing in the Davis Cup, for his country and in an atmosphere quite different from that of ATP tournaments: "It's always special to play in team competitions. When I get the chance, I love it. Maybe because we're tired of always playing by ourselves, for ourselves. The anthem before the matches, the fans in the stands, it's really something special".
