Coco Gauff won the United Cup for the USA on Sunday and was also voted "MVP" of the tournament, i.e. the best player of the competition.

After beating Leylah Fernandez, Donna Vekic, Shuai Zhang and Karolina Muchova during her team's run, the world No.3 followed up with a second straight win over rival Iga Swiatek.

Already playing at a high level at the start of the season, the American looked back on a very positive ten days of competition: "This match against Iga was one of my best performances. I was at a very good level.

I'm trying to put the pressure behind me and think that the worst that can happen is that I lose and get back to work to do better next time.

When I won the US Open in 2023, I didn't necessarily feel good during the final.

This detail gives me confidence to see that when I feel good, I should win, because that day I won without being at 100%."
