Connors comes to Djokovic's support: You can be on life support and get booed

Former US champion Jimmy Connors reflects on Novak Djokovic's withdrawal from the Australian Open and the booing that accompanied his exit from the court.

In his podcast Advantage Connors, the former world No. 1 sided with the Serb: "I look back and see that over the last few years, he's done some things.

He defended himself, he thought that was the way to do things, and he didn't get the approval of many people in the world, so that's why he was criticized.

There are people who, no matter what, will have that feeling, whether it's jealousy or whatever, and you'll always be booed.

When something like that happens, I see that not everyone can be the hero. If everyone was a good guy, it would be a bit boring.

A bit of controversy or a different attitude is fine. It doesn't have to be a lot.

The idea here is that it's never enough, you can reach your limits, be on life support, but you'll still get booed."
